Happy Nametag Day! Now is the time to wear your name proudly on your chest for this wonderful holiday in March that you may have never heard of.
Every day has numerous holidays that are never celebrated or even acknowledged by the general populous. This tragedy must end, and so it does with this educational article on the unsung heroes of March.
"In like a lion, out like a lamb." We've all heard this saying when someone is referring to the rainy weather of March. Luckily, this month just so happens to be Umbrella Month! Now is the time to pull them out of the back of your closets and get prepared for some downpours.
Yesterday, March 10, was Learn What Your Name Means Day; better find out soon because these days are flying by! My name means "from Scotland," though I have also heard "painted warrior" (that one is definitely cooler).
Names bring so much history with them and give people with nothing else in common a way to be connected. You will have to write that word about a million more times in your life, so why not find out where it came from?
Along with month-long and day-long holidays, there a few week-long ones as well. From the 8th to the 12th of March, one activity is brought to the spotlight that college students especially should recognize on a more regular basis.
For those five days, National Sleep Awareness Week comes into play! It is time to cozy up in those beds a little earlier and get some well-deserved beauty rest.
Everyone here is working so hard to keep up those grades before relaxing for Spring Break, and that is fantastic. However, try to slow down a little; one can only go nonstop for so long!
Mathematicians out there, a holiday just for you is coming up. On the 14th of March, National Pi day arrives in full swing. What do you get when you cut a jack o'lantern by its diameter?
Pumpkin Pi! Yes, the time is soon approaching for math related jokes, t-shirts and even pastries if you are feeling creative.
Last but not least, there is even a holiday for that remainder of snow left on the ground. Snowman Burning Day comes later down the road on the 20th of March.
Although I have never celebrated this holiday myself, it seems rather self-explanatory. Gather up that last bit of snow, make your man, and watch the last remnants of winter melt away!
March is only one month though Messiah College. Go online and prepare for the obscure holidays of ensuing months this year. Without a doubt, there is a holiday out there for everyone's taste!
