What do your friends call you?: Ruthie or Ru

Major: Nursing / Spanish minor

Position: President of the Black Student Union (BSU)

Year: Junior

Why are you so passionate about BSU?: I just thought it was really unique and me and my friends were happy that we had somewhere like that to go. It's very encouraging to see other students get excited about it as well.

Favorite activity: Eating and hanging out with friends, I like playing the piano too! When I'm at home sometimes I just play for hours on end.

If you could travel anywhere where would you travel?: South Africa (again), Spain, and India.

Favorite food: Mexican and Indian food

Hero: My Mom, probably because she went through a lot with her own education and had to fight for a good education. She and my dad went the extra mile for my education.

Favorite Lottie Nelson meal: Tomato soup and grilled cheese

Favorite Band/ Artist: Paramore, and Juanes

Favorite animal: Zebra

All time favorite color: bright and bold colors.

What is something that makes you unique: Well my parents are really unique, my mom grew up in South Africa and my dad in Jamaica.

What would be the perfect day?: Wake up and be with my sisters and go hiking in South Africa and then have a picnic. Later on we would go to the beach and hang out with family and friends and end the day by watching Cool Runnings with my sisters.
